Epigenetics as High Level Programming

Just as molecular biology tells us that in higher organisms the main mechanism for phenotypic differentiation is Gene Regulation, this may also be happening in fields such as History and Literature, evidenced by the growing role of Criticism which acts as a sort of Regulatory mechanism acting over the accumulated texts/facts. The latter having the role of Genes.

This biosemiotical approach may be compared to processes of High Level Language Programming. Objects with regulatory roles, which we may call Readers, now becomes the "genes" with respect to an increasing specialized type of Readers. In other word what we may see is an increasing development of Readers over Readers.
